  Food is really good. Buffet is great value and it is a nice and cozy atmosphere. Generally pretty busy but the service is good. If you are in the area it is worth checking out.

  Wonderfuly food here and the PIES!! Oh, are they good pies! We nickname this place "pie buffet". The staff are friendly and helpful and the rest of the food options are delicious. The choices on the buffet change often enough, but are best described as "home cooking". Not fancy food, just good food like you would find at a farm (fresh ingredients made well with little flourish and high attention to taste). A picture would be a waste, but the memory will be with you forever.

  Please note this review is directed to the Mercantile at the Crossroads Restaurant. I do not know if they are owned and operated by the same people. However the inexcusably terrible service I received there has tainted my opinion and I will not ever be returning to either the restaurant or the store because of it. On April 1st 2017 I visited the restaurant and store with my family. We had a lovely lunch and I spent approximately $40 in the store. Two of the items I purchased were Annie Mae's jam. Later that week upon opening the jam I discovered it had not been sealed properly in the manufacturing and there was grey fuzzy mold on the top of the jam. I immediately contacted the store to let them know thinking that they should probably take a look at their inventory to avoid other customers buying moldy products and I asked how I could receive some form of a return for the jam I had to now throw in the garbage. I offered to email the store manager my receipt and photos of the jam which I thought was completely reasonable. It was a $6.99 jam and considering I had purchased other items and eaten lunch there and have been to the restaurant on other occasions it did not seem like too much to ask. Instead I was met with resistance. I received absolutely no apology, I was told the only way I could be compensated was to make the hour long drive to the store and physically bring in the jam. Then I was accused of making it up because "anybody could phone in and say they bought moldy jam." Kathy told me she would talk to her business partner and call me within a week. It has now been 3 weeks and not a single word. This level of service and rudeness is just unacceptable. Especially from a supposedly family owned business. I am extremely disappointed and I will not ever be returning and I will ensure my family and friends do the same.

  Very disappointed in the lunch buffet. Definitely overpriced for the entrees available. The chicken was Legs only with little flavor and the beef pot roast was so overdone and dry it resembled splintering wood. The pasta was plain, white pasta and plain tomato sauce. Cheap, cheap, cheap. The salads and desserts were good but there needs to be at least one decent, flavorful entree available. I would never go back. It definitely wasn't worth the 40.00 it cost for myself and my husband.

  Such a wonderful family friendly environment, and they cater to families with special needs and dietary needs. The buffet selection is but free, and there are gluten free options there, too. We have been going monthly as a family for nearly 6 years, and never have a complaint!
